"Kashika
- the shining one"
Angel Tree is a small in-home cattery in Orange County, CA, conveniently located
near the Orange County Airport. Our cats live with us, play with us, and
roam our house freely for optimal socialization. They interact not only
with us but also with our tiny Chihuahua dogs. We breed for health, gentle
sweet and playful personality, and beautiful exotic look.
The Bengal cat was developed by crossing the domestic cat with the wild Asian
Leopard Cat, a small, shy forest cat with large nocturnal eyes and stunning
rosettes. After generations of breeding back to the domestic cat, early
breeders developed a cat with the gentle and playful personality of a domestic
cat while retaining much of the exotic look of the Asian Leopard Cat.
Along the way, "glitter" was introduced into the breed when the
remarkable originator of the breed, Jean Sugden (now Jean Mill) found a
naturally glittered feral cat in India. This is the only breed of domestic
cat to have this fascinating characteristic. Glitter is caused by hollows
within the cat's hair shaft which reflect light. This reflection of light gives
the cat's coat a luminescent sheen.
Our kittens are raised with loving kindness in our home and play with us for
optimal socialization. We breed selectively from only the top bloodlines
with a commitment toward perfecting the breed.
